Works well for radiation treatment. cooling and healing and absorbs nicely. not greasy.
ok so i would never in a million years recommend anything to anyone without discussing it with their oncologist. i did this and consequently did not use it during treatment or use it as directed to test its claims. my oncologist did say i could use it after treatment though and i have to say it is way better than calendula or Aquaphor for me. the smell of the calendula made me barf the whole time i was getting treatment and it never really seemed to do much for me and obviously Aquaphor is just gross. im very pleased with this product post-treatment, its soothing smells ok and absorbs well into the skin.
I am currently receiving proton radiation treatments. My Dr. told me beforehand that my skin would break down as proton radiation is the least forgiving on the skin. I had 19/25 treatments thus far and my skin is just red. My Dr. asked what I was using because she said my skin looks amazing for being this far along. They were expecting “ peeling, blisters, seeping and oozing”. I use this in conjunction with aloe leaf I harvest myself and a calendula salve with beeswax and grapeseed oil.
I found this before my husband started chemo and radiation treatment to the neck. The radiologist were amazed he never got burnt. After 37 rad treatments he only had a slight sun like burn. No scaring at all. The bottle lasted the entire treatment only used 2x a day. Use it the week before you start radiation to prep your skin.
Pretreatment I slather it on every day before IMRT radiotherapy. In to week three and getting pink and no burns yet. Nothing to compare against since I don’t have data when not using it. Also apply vit C liquid, calendula, arnica, and essential oils after IMRT and in evening before sleeping.
I loved my ARC. I used it throughout radiation. I had 25 days of left breast radiation abd did not burn!
Was looking for a cream for radiation treatment. This was excellent. Two tubes were necessary for four weeks of radiation plus follow up. Both the radiologist and oncologist were impressed by my skin and even the nurses asked what I was using to keep side effects at bay.
Outstanding result after 25 radiation treatments absolutely no irritation. My skin is in perfect condition for my up coming surgery .
I gave a tube of this to my friend who was undergoing radiation therapy. Thankfully he did not experience any burning, rash or cracking from the radiaiton therapy. On his last treatment he talked to a man waiting to have another radiation treatment that did not have ARC Cream, and he was troubled by a severe burning rash. My friend gave the remainder of his tube to this man, in hopes the rest of his treatments would go as well as his own with ARC. My friend said he was so grateful he had used ARC, but really had not realized how lucky he was to have it until he saw someone that didn’t use it . It feels good to help a friend at a time like this.
This is the cream that the UCLA Radiation Doctor provided me as I was going through radiation. I used this cream as I went through twice a day radiation treatments for a total of 30 treatments for breast cancer. The cream glides on so softly and smoothly. It is soothing and was excellent! I didn’t burn and finished all my treatments without my skin peeling or cracking. I’m so happy to see this lotion available on Amazon! My Plastic Surgeon is so impressed with this cream he’s asked me to keep using it twice a day as I prepare for reconstruction surgery.
I have provided a dozen or so colleagues with ARC, for prevention of burning during and after radiation treatment, with 100% success.
If you’ve ever seen a friend suffer with scalding burns from radiation, it’s devastating, and completely preventable by using ARC! It truly is a miracle, a product that I urge everyone to use before, during and after radiation treatment.
